The organization stressed that banks, fintech companies, and IT service providers have a moral and legal responsibility<\/strong> to uphold the highest standards of data privacy and financial ethics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo citizen should ever wake up to find their account frozen or manipulated without lawful reason or due process,\u201d said Oluwaseun Medayedupin<\/strong>, Founder of SocioAfrica. \u201cFinancial integrity is a pillar of national trust \u2014 protecting it is protecting the nation itself.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udca1 Financial Integrity as a National Security Priority<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

SocioAfrica is urging the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)<\/strong>, Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU)<\/strong>, and other regulatory agencies to strengthen oversight of financial and IT operations \u2014 especially as digital transactions dominate the modern economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Recommendations Include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Establishing strict penalties for unlawful account interference.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Enhancing inter-agency cooperation between financial regulators and cybersecurity units.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Introducing AI-driven monitoring systems to detect and prevent data breaches.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Launching a national awareness campaign on digital rights and consumer protection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
